Scheduled for Jul 30 through Aug 1 at the Rio Hotel convention center in Las Vegas, Nevada, The LED Show will include a preconference workshop day, two full days of conference sessions, and an exhibit floor with leading players in the solid-state lighting (SSL) industry. Attendees will have the opportunity to explore every facet of the LED lighting technology segment – including in depth coverage of the latest in LED component technology all of the way through the food chain to best practices in SSL projects.

Monday pre-conference workshops include sessions on lighting economics, DMX lighting-control technology, the fundamentals of OLED technology, and the basics of tax benefits and funding of SSL projects. Speakers includes prominent members of professional societies such as Stephen Herman, the president of IES (Illuminating Engineering Society) of Las Vegas, and executives from industry leaders Traxon (an Osram brand) and Philips Lighting.

The main conference sessions run the gamut of the technical and design areas that are fundamental to the success of SSL. Attendees will hear from LED component technology experts representing Cree, Nichia, Bridgelux, Osram Opto Semiconductors, and Luminus Devices.

Sessions focused on lighting products will include discussion on the quality and color of light and how to characterize those attributes. Special guest speaker Eunice Noell-Waggoner, president of the Center of Design for an Aging Society, will discuss the requirements and capabilities of SSL with regards to the elderly.

Other sessions at The LED Show will address adaptive control technologies and luminaire design. Closing the show will be two luminaries of the lighting industry – Terry Walsh from Tempo and Chip Israel of Lighting Design Alliance. The topic is "Lighting the future." With Terry and Chip you will hear unabashed facts and expert opinion from the lighting manufacturer and designer perspectives.
