Sony begins selling world's first OLED TV
30 Nov 2007
For around $1800 you can buy an 11-inch OLED TV from Sony…but you'd better be quick.
In Tokyo this week for the White LEDs 07 conference, we wandered into the Sony showroom and saw at first hand the company's 11-inch OLED TV, which went on sale mid November.

Production is limited to 2,000 units per month, and so most sales will be made through advance orders at major retail outlets. The 11-inch TV costs 200,000 yen including tax (around $1800).

The world's first OLED TV is incredibly thin, measuring only 3 mm at its thinnest point, and provides an excellent image even at very wide viewing angles.
