LED Roadway Lighting Ltd. lights up Puerto Rico’s Capitol Building Date Announced: 15 Apr 2011 LED Roadway Lighting (LRL) is pleased to announce its first installation in Puerto Rico. The installation of Satellite Series SAT-96M fixtures will provide 53% energy savings over the existing 200 watt high pressure sodium fixtures, in addition to improved illumination and lower maintenance costs.
The LED-based fixtures were installed on Luis Muñoz Rivera Avenue, on the north side of Puerto Rico’s Capitol Building (El Capitolio de Puerto Rico), the seat of Puerto Rico’s legislature. This fast track requirement was part of renovations to San Juan Bautista Plaza. The installation was completed in late March by Puerto Rico Electric Power Authority (PREPA) and the newly renovated San Juan Bautista Plaza was inaugurated by the Governor on March 30th.
