Edison Opto to debut filament and AC-LED modules at Hong Kong International Lighting Fair
Oct. 24, 2014
The Taiwanese LED packaging manufacturer, Edison Opto, will participate in the attention-getting lighting event - Hong Kong International Lighting Fair from 27 October to 30 October, 2014, and showcase a series of high efficiency and high lm/$ components. Also, filament and AC LED modules, which have been launched recently by Edison Opto, will make its debut in this event.
Responding to the demand for environmentally friendly lighting, incandescent bulb is banned in various countries successively which drives traditional lighting manufacturers to transform into LED lighting. Edison Opto branches out into filament market and releases 0.8W LED filament which uses packaging technology and serial LED chips to achieve 360° (omnidirectioanl) light distribution. With excellent light quality, the filament brings a whole new visual experience which is unlike traditional LED. The filament utilizes copper substrate as lead frame, enabling better heat dissipation and a more reliable performance. Similar to sapphire substrates, the luminous efficacy of Edison filament can reach 125lm/W (under 2700K, with CRI higher than 80). With Edison’s 0.8W filament, 4W LED bulb can replace 40W incandescent bulb and provide the same lighting effect with a longer lifespan (up to 25000 hours).
Edison Opto has recently introduced EdiLex AC modules which can be widely used in ceiling light, down light and fan light. The traditional LED is operated with DC supplies; however, the indoor electricity generally uses AC. Compared with the traditional LED, Edison Opto’s AC modules don’t need to connect external driver, so that it can help to reduce the circuit cost and the size of luminaires. As a result, users have more flexibility in luminaire design. At present, Edison Opto has launched 5W/10W/15W/20W/25W AC LED modules which provide dimming function increasing the value of Edison products. Besides, the AC modules are grouped in 3-Step MacAdam ellipse which demonstrates Edison Opto’s capability of color consistency. All the EdiLex AC modules will be showcased in Hong Kong International Lighting Fair.
