Daktronics provides 5x larger LED video display for Lakewood, NJ FirstEnergy Park
June 4, 2015
New display is five time larger than previous display
BROOKINGS, S.D. – Daktronics (NASDAQ-DAKT) of Brookings, South Dakota, was selected by the Lakewood BlueClaws to provide LED video display upgrades to FirstEnergy Park. The new main video display is five times the size of the previous display and consists of more than 1.1 million LEDs, bringing a bigger picture to the fan experience in Lakewood, New Jersey.
“As we start our 15th season, this is a dynamic enhancement to the experience of every BlueClaws fan for many years to come,” said BlueClaws chief operating officer Adam Lorber. “This will immediately become a focal point for everyone at the ballpark and serve as an engine to develop the entire in-game program.”
The main LED video display features a 15HD pixel layout for excellent image clarity and contrast with wide angle visibility to appeal to every seat at the park. It measures approximately 35 feet high by 54 feet wide for 1,880 square feet of live video and instant replays. Featuring variable content zoning allows the display to show one large image or to be separated into multiple windows to show a variety of up-to-the-minute statistics, graphics and animations, sponsor messages, and other game information.
“We’re excited to continue our relationship with the BlueClaws and feature the same premier outdoor LED technology as their affiliate Philadelphia Phillies,” said Peter Dunkle, Daktronics sales representative. “The upgrades to FirstEnergy Park show a commitment to providing their fans and partners with the highest level of excitement and entertainment experience.”
A three sided marquee LED video display has also been installed outside the park to welcome fans to the event. Each of the three displays feature 20 millimeter line spacing and measure 15.5 feet high by 12 feet wide.
All displays feature industry-leading environmental protection to ensure a long lifetime with consistent performance and low power consumption, providing value and excitement for years to come.
