Watchfire adds 16-mm digital billboard option to MX Class of LED displays
Oct. 5, 2015
DANVILLE, Ill. — Digital billboards are a capital investment that can frustrate operators when they begin to dim and become less uniform after a few years of operation. Watchfire Signs, a leading manufacturer of digital billboards, now offers both 16mm and 19mm versions of its MX Class billboards, a revolutionary digital billboard product that the company guarantees will look as good in year 10 as it does on the first day of operation.
Both the 16mm and 19mm MX Class of digital billboard includes Watchfire’s unique 10-10-10 guarantee: a 10 year brightness guarantee, a 10 year uniformity guarantee and a 10 year replacement parts warranty. If an MX Class billboard fails to meet the company’s rigorous standards for brightness and uniformity and it cannot be remedied, Watchfire will issue the owner a cash refund. The guarantee provides peace of mind and a performance assurance that is unprecedented in the industry.
Gerry Hocker with Commercial Joint Venture LLC (Hocker Outdoor) installed two Watchfire MX Class digital billboards in Bethany Beach, Del. in August. “I did a lot of research into how digital billboards age, and I started looking at replacement costs in the future,” he said. “I knew I had one chance to get it right. While other boards will be showing age, my Watchfire MX boards will look as good in 10 years as they do today.”
The MX Class is designed, engineered and built at Watchfire’s headquarters in Danville, Ill., using proprietary technology that delivers longer sustained brightness and quantitatively measures and adjusts a billboard’s brightness and uniformity, both in the factory and in the field, over the course of its operation. Watchfire guarantees appearance standards for color and brightness uniformity will be accurately maintained for at least 10 years, or the owner will be issued a cash refund. In addition, Watchfire’s MX Class parts warranty covers 10 years of replacement parts.
"This is an expansion of our MX Class portfolio. The market’s response to the 19mm MX Class, which was introduced in the spring, has actually been incredible,” said Darrin Friskney, Watchfire’s Vice President of Digital Outdoor. “When they do that math, our customers see the long-term competitive advantage that MX Class provides. They almost immediately began to request the same technology in 16mm. It’s the biggest technological breakthrough in the history of digital billboards and we’re excited to announce that we are expanding the offering and we begin taking orders immediately."
