Thomas Research Products introduces new step-down transformers for LED drivers
Oct. 17, 2016
Thomas Research Products has introduced two new Step-down Autotransformers. These cost-effective models allow 100-277V LED drivers to be used on 480V mains. Thomas Research Products manufactures complete LED power and control solutions for OEMs and retrofitters.
The 480V:277-L series of step-down autotransformers are designed for lighting applications. Two models are available: 250VA and 375VA. Each non-isolated, thermally-protected model has one output. The new autotransformers allow LED drivers and controls designed for 100-277V input to operate on 480V mains by reducing the voltage. They can be used on 347V circuits in Canada with derated output.
TRP's economical new transformers offer high efficiency and are UL Listed (UL5085). The IP20 cases are rated for use in dry and damp locations. The metal F-Can enclosure design makes them easy for OEMs to handle and fit in most lighting fixtures. They are optimal for use in indoor or outdoor commercial, institutional and industrial applications. They come with the company's standard 5 year warranty.
Find information on the TRP website now. Availability of the 480V:277-L Autotransformers begins 4Q2016.
