Lumenpulse licenses Lumentalk digital controls to industrial LED lighting supplier Besser Energy

Oct. 27, 2014
Lumenpulse Inc. has signed a licensing agreement for Lumentalk™ technology with Besser Energy, a Mexico-based manufacturer of LED lighting for industrial applications. The agreement grants Besser Energy access to the patented technology, which enables digital control of LED lighting over existing AC power lines. The company’s clients can now avoid unnecessary re-cabling and renovation expenses, making it easier and more cost-effective to convert to LED and digital control.

“Lumentalk technology provides an added benefit to our clients who are switching to LED by giving them complete control over their existing lighting system, without the costs and headaches involved in re-cabling or renovating industrial spaces,” said Diego I. Zambrano, Commercial Director at Besser Energy. “This technology removes many of the major obstacles in new and existing projects by lowering material and installation costs, so we’re very exited about being able to offer it.”

Lumentalk has been developed to work with any LED fixture, bringing instant digital control to legacy wiring systems. The technology is protocol independent, making it compatible with most traditional dimmers and control systems (Triac, 0-10V, DALI, DMX, ELV). Lumentalk is also bi-directional, allowing luminaires to send information back for easy commissioning.

“Signing a licensing agreement with a market leader like Besser Energy is further validation of Lumentalk, and the impact it’s having on the lighting industry,” said Francois-Xavier Souvay, President and CEO of Lumenpulse. “Electrical wiring is everywhere, and Lumentalk takes advantage of this existing network, saving time, money and client disruption.”

Lumentalk received a Product Innovation Award (PIA) in March, 2012. It has since won praise from industry press and designers, including David Morgan, who hailed the technology for taking signaling control and data transmission “to a new level of completeness for the lighting market.” The technology has recently been used to revitalize 90 State Street, a 112-year-old building in Albany; and to reduce the amount of conduit, cable and labor involved in the modernization of Minnesota’s Blatnik Bridge.
