Energybank model T LED exterior fixture awarded first place for engineering excellence

energybank, a U.S. based manufacturer specializing in high-performance LED lighting and controls, was recognized as a First Place Winner of the Governor’s New Product Award for Engineering Excellence.

“Innovations we’re seeing from Wisconsin companies of all sizes in all industries is a main reason the state’s economy continues to grow,” said Governor Scott Walker. “I am proud to recognize these inventive products that keep the state’s economy moving.”

The award was presented during the 39th Annual Governor’s New Product Award (GNPA) event on May 18th, 2016 by Wisconsin Society of Professional Engineers (WSPE) President John M. Parisi, P.E. and WSPE GNPA Chair Dale R. Swenson, P.E. Accepting the award for energybank was Founder and CEO Neal Verfuerth.

“It is a distinct honor to receive the Governor’s New Product Award for the model T,” remarked Verfuerth. “My thanks to the Wisconsin Society of Professional Engineers for recognizing the innovative engineering based on our core competencies of thermal dynamics, optics and application engineering. This is the second time Neal has won the top award from GNPA. His previous invention, an ultra-efficient, high-intensity fluorescent fixture won first place at the 35th GNPA event.

Auto Dealers, like Gandrud Automotive of Green Bay, Wisconsin, are dramatically reducing their operating costs and improving merchandising by using the model T. “The model T won hands down, based on its superior performance and unique form factor,” stated Matt Lehman, Gandrud Controller. “The model T is aesthetically pleasing and lends a nice, clean design element to the lot exterior in the daytime.”

The model T exterior LED fixture was previously recognized as a Plant Engineering Product of the Year and received the Transformation Award of Excellence for Innovation from the U.S Green Building Council – Wisconsin Chapter.
