HANOVER, MD—SNA Displays retrofitted an outdated façade display at Live! Casino & Hotel Maryland with a 134-foot-long LED video display. For the project, SNA Displays removed the original LED screen and replaced it with a video display system that combines technologies from two product series: 16 mm EMPIRE™ Exterior video and ACCENT™ LED strips. Live! is a destination entertainment venue located on the west side of the Arundel Mills shopping center in Hanover, Maryland, featuring a wide variety of attractions including gaming, dining, and live entertainment.

The main face of the new LED spectacular along the property’s north elevation is approximately 18 feet tall and 134 feet long (345 x 2,560 pixels). The north-facing LED screen, which replaced an aging 20 mm display and has approximately 50% more resolution, is used primarily for on-premises messaging. It is visible from Arundel Mills Cir. and adjacent to an entrance leading to The Prime Rib.
In addition to manufacturing and installing the main LED video display, SNA Displays custom-designed a series of 160-milimeter-wide LED sticks for the accent video elements at the corner of the façade and redesigned display cladding to provide a proper fit around the LED sticks. The 11 custom ACCENT™ LED strips replace simple strip lighting with full-matrix video display technology that acts as an extension of the main display. The solid panels have integral power supplies with no need for field controllers, giving lighting designers a wider breadth of capabilities.
“The new 160-mm wide ACCENT™ strips are a wonderful feature that complement the main display,” said Jason Helton, SNA Displays’ executive vice president. “The strips are self-contained units that allow for full video content and pixel-perfect control and can be used as stand-alone visuals or as accent pieces to enhance other display product lines.”
