Fiber-coupled LED Showcases a Wide Spectrum from 400 nm to 1000 nm for Spectroscopy
Manchester, NH, October 28, 2024 – LumeDEL LLC introduces the NewDEL™ Model X4010 Fiber-coupled LED source that employs a unique phosphor-coated blue LED to emit a broad spectrum, 400 nm -1000 nm, for applications in spectroscopy. It provides a continuous and balanced spectrum without extreme spectral peaks. It serves as a long life replacement for halogen lamps. The LED in the X4010 can be quickly switched on and off for pulse modulation unlike halogen lamps. The LED also offers a much longer lifetime, saving maintenance, as well as downtime for lamp replacement and recalibration
Other LED products offering phosphor-coated, broadband emission have spectra that are not balanced. In these cases, the violet or blue excitation peak can be mor than 100 times stronger than the broad phosphor emission. This can constrain optimum integration times when using silicon array spectrometers. The X4010 has a blue peak that is only twice as intense as its remaining VIS-NIR spectrum.
The Model X4010 is a compact, fully integrated product which incorporates its own driver and microcontroller circuitry. A separate driver/controller module is not required. Device operation can be performed through a feature-rich Windows-based GUI or personally programmed using distinct serial commands.
The NewDEL™ product line of fiber-coupled LEDs includes three different broadband sources as well as 17 narrowband models with peak wavelengths from the UV to the near-IR spectral regions. The models offer complete configurability, from a continuous operating mode to pulsed or triggered modes, so that users at any level can set up a light source ideally suited to their system needs. LumeDEL also offers fiberoptic patch cords, collimating lenses, filter holders and mounting hardware accessories to complement all NewDEL fiber-coupled LEDs.
