Heraeus Electronics showcases expanded LED product portfolio at Strategies in Light/The LED Show
LONG BEACH, California- February 14, 2018- Heraeus Electronics, a leading provider of materials solutions for the semiconductor and electronic packaging industries, announced an expanded portfolio of products, including materials, components and services, specifically for LED manufacturers. The announcement was made at the 2018 Strategies in Light/LED Show in Long Beach, California.
With over 50 years of experience, Heraeus Electronics began a strategic ramp-up in 2017 to expand its product line and services to meet the needs of the LED industry and its growing applications. This comprehensive product line includes: its market-leading bonding wires; die bonding materials such as precision placement solders and high-thermal conductivity sinter pastes; thermal substrates using printed copper paste on alumina and aluminum nitride ceramics; flexible metal substrates (lead-frames); and Celcion® thick film system for aluminum substrates.
The unique LED materials portfolio includes well-matched materials needed for the electrical and thermal bonding of the LED chip/die and the LED package. Recognized world-wide for its ability to provide well-matched materials, Heraeus can ensure that integrated materials fit perfectly into high-functioning systems. This proven quality enables Heraeus customers to reduce their testing efforts and focus on actual production.
Another component of the Heraeus Electronics LED investment strategy is its emphasis on integration and value-added services. The company’s state-of-the-art application and development center in Hanau, Germany offers comprehensive engineering services for the development of LEDs and LED modules. The center provides an ideal testing environment for manufacturers to simulate their prototypes in a wide variety of scenarios in order to ensure optimal “real world” quality and performance. The ability to offer integrated materials and services enables LED manufacturers to optimize their outsourcing and manufacturing processes while achieving efficiency, quality and performance.
Dr. Klemens Brunner, Global Head of Marketing and Sales for Heraeus Electronics, believes single-sourcing is becoming increasingly important in the LED industry. “Even the most simple supply chain can be a challenge to manage. That is why we expanded our LED portfolio. It gives LED manufacturers the opportunity to source all materials needed for electrical and thermal bonding and connection of the LED chip or LED package from one supplier.”
Heraeus Electronics will be exhibiting at the 2018 Strategies in Light Conference in Long Beach, California from February 13-15 at booth 336.
