Applelec is delighted to announce a new partnership with SloanLED which brings Applelec to full UK distributor status for the American LED systems manufacturer.
SloanLED began creating aviation lighting systems in 1957 and were leaders in the advance of LED technology in the early 1970s. Today, 60 years later, they are a manufacturer of highly efficient LED systems for signage and architectural lighting applications.
Barry Blythe, SloanLED sales director, said: ‘We are pleased to announce Applelec has been appointed to our UK distributor network. The agreement unites SloanLED's expertise in designing and manufacturing high quality solid state lighting products for corporate identity and architectural lighting solutions with Applelec's marketing, distribution and servicing network here in the UK.'
Ian Drinkwater, Applelec managing director, said: ‘With our field sales staff located around the country, Applelec will be focusing on one-to-one support for customers specifying SloanLED systems. With a five year warranty on most products, the range features industry leading LED modules that routinely feature in national signage roll outs, alongside highly efficient LED solutions for applications such as the illumination of large-format lightboxes and external building contouring.'
Applelec’s stocked SloanLED products will include the brand’s best-selling Prism module, which completely reimagines LED lens technology. Instead of a frosted lens, a series of micro-prisms are used to direct light, creating a brighter and more efficient module which is recognised as the brightest module in its class. Prism is used in signs and lightboxes as well as being suitable for illuminating reception desks and for bespoke joinery projects.
Applelec is currently recruiting two new staff members to support existing sales teams with the new distributorship, with dedicated staff set to work on SloanLED projects. Applelec’s warehousing has recently been expanded to accommodate SloanLED stock.
Barry Blythe, SloanLED sales director, additionally said: ‘Applelec have been partners of SloanLED for the past five years and had previously been using our product range under an OEM trade agreement. The upgrade to full distributor status allows Applelec to commence selling our product range to the UK Sign, POS and lighting industries.'
