Tuesday 4 October, 2011 09:45-14:30 Part of Strategies in Light Europe 2011; Milan, Italy
For many years, the industrial landscape of lighting has been stable, dominated by the leaders such as Philips, Osram and GE. Now, the recent advancements in LED lighting technology, coupled with declining LED prices, is accelerating the adoption of solid-state lighting (SSL) in many segments of the lighting industry, causing disruption to traditional industrial structures. This change is creating both risks and opportunities for companies and investors involved in the lighting industry.
The SSL Investor Forum, held for the first time at Strategies in Light Europe 2011, aims to address some of the principal questions being asked by investors. Organized in association with Berenberg Bank, the Forum will discuss issues such as the pace of adoption of LEDs in lighting, the longer-term growth potential of the market, and opportunities to invest in different levels of the lighting value-chain. Other factors for discussion include the effects of regulations and government subsidies, and the penetration of consumer-electronics manufacturers into the lighting space.
Speakers from publicly-quoted companies in the LED and lighting markets will share their expertise and insight. LED and module manufacturers are represented, as well as luminaire and lighting-system manufacturers. A major retailer will represent the consumer-facing end of the value chain. Other speakers will discuss investment opportunities and the influence of energy-efficiency initiatives in Europe.
The SSL Investor Forum is specifically designed for current and potential investors, and will provide valuable information and excellent networking opportunities.
