Osram PrevaLED Flat AC LED light engine launches for downlight applications

UL Classified for Retrofit Kit Installations, High Efficacy LED Modules Streamline Upgrading Fixtures to Future to Lighting

Lighting leader Osram Sylvania is unveiling Osram PrevaLED® Flat AC LED light engines, highly efficient, 120Vac integrated modules that are phase-cut dimmable down to 10 percent with no strobing and flickering, and have an integrated driver that offers up to 120 lumens per watt. These, and other Osram innovations, were exhibited at LightFair International 2016, the world’s largest annual architectural and commercial lighting trade show and conference taking place in San Diego, California from April 26 – 28, 2016.

“With the Osram PrevaLED Flat AC LED light engine, retrofitting existing fixtures to LED is easy,” said Daniel Chu, product group marketing manager, Osram Sylvania. “Because of its innovative protective cover design, our new flat LED module meets UL safety and flammability requirements so the retrofitted fixture doesn’t have to get recertified for UL. This can help alleviate some of the angst when considering converting to LEDs.”

Ideal for use in downlights, sconces and torchiers, PrevaLED Flat AC LED light engines have a shallow form factor – less than a 1 inch height – which allows for easy luminaire integration. They are available in 2700K and 3000K CCT at >90 CRI, and 3500K and 4000K CCT at >80 CRI, in both 1500 (6.7" diameter) and 2500 (9.4" diameter) lumen packages. The LED modules have a long life of up to 50,000 hours (L70) which minimizes maintenance frequency, and offer a five year warranty.
