Enfis appoints Dan Polito, ex-Lamina VP

Enfis, the UK-based manufacturer of high-power, intelligent LED arrays, has taken a strategic step towards expanding its presence in the North American market.

The company has hired Dan Polito as President of Enfis Lighting North America - read the company's press release.

Polito was until recently VP of marketing at Lamina Lighting, and is based in the New York/New Jersey area. Lamina was recently acquired by Lighting Science Group – see news.

Based in Swansea, UK, Enfis expects that Polito will be ideally placed to move the company's products into lighting applications – architectural, entertainment and more – that require controllability, reliability and high lumen output from a single source.

At the PLASA tradeshow in London this week, where LEDs Magazine was first to hear about Polito's appointment, Enfis also demonstrated a version of their Quattro array capable of generating 12,000 lumens. The company described this as the "world's brightest LED package."

Intematix appoints Jeff Lagaly, ex-Cree

Intematix Corp, the Fremont, California-based supplier of phosphors, LED components and SSL modules, has appointed Jeff Lagaly as Vice President of Sales, LED Lighting.

Lagaly was formerly Global Sales Director for Cree Lighting, overseeing the sales effort that introduced and drove Cree’s XLamp LED line to sales estimated in excess of $100M.

Intematix CEO Peter Larsson said, “Jeff’s background, with experience in both the chip and LED sides of the industry, is the perfect complement to the Intematix team. As part of his responsibilities at Cree, he built both the inside and outside LED component sales teams, installed local and global distribution networks, and identified customer entry points worldwide which resulted in the development of Cree’s fastest growing business unit.”
