That single thread is one of the most important factors in evolving the way forward for lighting product development and application. Standards development does not occur in a vacuum. Without input from a variety of lighting industry stakeholders on appropriate test methods, metrics, knowledge gaps, and technological limitations, standards could not provide a framework for minimum performance, interoperability, safe operation, durability, and sustainability.
