Coronet LED’s Architectural Luminaires Define Bialek’s Borderless HQ
In modern workplace design, change is the only constant. With rapid technological advancements continuously reshaping how we work, designers face the challenge of creating offices that meet current needs and can adapt to future shifts. As a pioneer of workplace interiors, Bialek is keenly aware of this fact, and their new 12,000-square-foot headquarters is proof. Designed by Gensler, the space is a model of human-centric design and adaptability, seamlessly integrating Coronet LED’s architectural luminaires to enhance both functionality and aesthetics.
For over 30 years, Bialek has led the way in workplace design, offering innovative solutions to commercial, government, education, and healthcare clients. When designing their new headquarters, they aimed to create a working showroom where employees could work and clients could experience the latest in workplace design firsthand. To achieve this, Gensler developed a borderless office concept featuring distinct areas—each designed to accommodate a variety of work styles and activities.
The thoughtful integration of lighting is central to the success of this dynamic environment. Coronet LED’s architectural luminaires were strategically placed throughout the headquarters, effectively defining areas without the need for walls. Known for their exceptional efficacy, Coronet LED’s luminaires are designed and built in the United States. As one of the first CarbonNeutral® lighting companies, Coronet LED is dedicated to sustainable manufacturing practices. Their extensive catalog of energy-efficient luminaires—from intricate customizations to quick-turn solutions—provides designers with the tools they need to bring their visions to light.
In the case of Bialek’s office, Coronet LED’s Magneto track system plays a vital role in creating a versatile environment. Its magnetic mounting allows for easy repositioning and replacement of modules, ensuring the lighting can seamlessly adjust to varying demands throughout the day and environmental shifts over the years. In the Beacon, a central hub for collaboration, and the Indoor Garden, a biophilia-inspired workspace, a mix of linear, spot, and puck modules deliver a balance of general and task lighting. The Design Lab, a material library for Bialek designers, benefits from focused spotlighting that supports detailed work, while the Innovation Lounge, equipped with VR and AI tools, is illuminated with dimmable spots that foster an environment suitable for high-tech interactions.
Additional lighting solutions from Coronet LED were thoughtfully implemented throughout the office, ensuring functional efficiency and a cohesive design. Conference rooms feature the LSR luminaire from Coronet LED’s flagship, Declare listed LS Series. Available with Red List Free construction, the LSR provides uniform, glare-free lighting ideal for video conferencing and presentations. Regressed PG2 luminaires are strategically positioned along the space’s edges, offering subtle yet effective perimeter lighting that enhances spatial awareness and accentuates architectural details.
At the heart of both Bialek’s design philosophy and Coronet LED’s product development is a commitment to innovation. The lighting industry, like workplace design, has been transformed by rapid technological advancements in recent years. Coronet LED has consistently led this evolution, introducing pioneering technologies that set new industry standards. Their latest LED board exemplifies this leadership, delivering superior light quality with R9 values exceeding 70, CRI exceeding 90, and efficacy of up to 135 lumens per watt.
Coronet LED’s dedication to integrating cutting-edge lighting technology made them the ideal partner for the Bialek project. With Coronet LED’s architectural lighting solutions incorporated, the new headquarters is a vibrant space that embraces the future of work. The project underscores the importance of flexibility in modern workplace design and demonstrates how exceptional lighting solutions can be instrumental in creating a future-proof space.
