Lambda Research incorporates photon mapping in TracePro software for LED source color rendition

Nov. 8, 2013
Date Announced: 08 Nov 2013 Littleton, MA, USA – Lambda Research Corporation, the leading designer and publisher of illumination and optical design software, announces the release of TracePro® v7.4. This new release features improved photorealistic rendering capabilities using photon mapping to render scenes, sources, light pipes, and instrument panels. This method is superior for rendering scenes where multiple bounces occur in lightpipes, lenses and standard optical components, and for LED source color rendition.TracePro’s new rendering capability uses a two-pass algorithm that simulates light from user-defined sources and ambient light settings to produce a rendered scene. The first pass generates a photon map for use in the second pass. In the second pass, rays are traced in reverse and the photon map is used to calculate the relative luminance of every pixel in the rendered image. After the rendering is completed, the user can control the contrast and brightness as needed.Request a free trial today at www.lambdares.com.About Lambda Research CorporationLambda Research Corporation, a privately-held company founded in 1992, is an industry leader in light analysis, illumination system design and analysis, and custom software development.
