Illumination Physics presents 'pearls' that contain LED arrays for light curtains or sculptures

Oct. 10, 2013
Date Announced: 10 Oct 2013 IP Pearls consist of strings of beautiful white opaque pearl-like spheres which are linked together using elegant polished metal connections. The overall effect of these strings of pearl promotes the metaphor of chandeliers, jewelry and sculpture – however individually, these pearls can also put on a spectacular show as they contain a hidden LED array inside. The added benefit of this is that each pearl can be controlled individually for colour and brightness.Pearls are designed to form either a 2-dimensional or 3-dimensional video light curtain or sculpture. Each 40mm sphere contains two powerful RGB LEDs built into the white opaque molding, mounted in strings of varying lengths – 2, 5, & 10 metres or custom (the maximum being 50 spheres in a string). The Pearl is suitable for a wide range of applications including TV scenography, theme parks, exhibitions, video art, night clubs, shopping malls, grand foyers, and chandeliers to name a few. When the IP Pearls are mounted in depth, the intention is to make use of 3-dimensional video content so that colour, movement and imagery can travel in three separate axes within the sculpture created by the matrix of pearls. Pearls may be mounted in vertical strings or suspended from both ends to form graceful curved light sculptures.
