Designated the OVSRRGBCC3, the 3 separate diodes are housed in a miniature surface mount package that is compatible with both automatic pick and place equipment as well asinfrared and vapor phase solder reflow processes."The 1204 package size provides customers with the option of mountingthe LED as a top-emitting or side-emitting device," said Richard Saffa, vice president of OPTEK Technology's Visible LED Business Unit."The mounting options and miniature size make the LED package idealfor a variety of applications, particularly those with limited boardspace such as handheld applications."The OVSRRGBCC3 LED is specified for use in automotive dashboard andswitch backlighting, telecommunications backlighting in telephonesand faxes, and flat backlighting for LCDs, switches and symbols.The full-color surface mount LED package is composed of a red,green and blue LED with a white diffused lens. The red LED featuresAllnGaP material with a typical intensity of 125mcd. The green andblue LEDs utilize InGaN material and feature typical intensities of300mcd and 75mcd, respectively. The red LED has continuous forwardcurrent of 30mA with a power dissipation of 78mW. Continuous forwardcurrent for the green and blue LEDs is 20mA and power dissipation is84mW.
