Osram creates online tool for selecting LEDs used in solid-state lighting applications

New online portal provides technical specifications for fast, easy download
The new LED Information Base from Osram Opto Semiconductors is an online tool for selecting LEDs for applications in the automotive, industrial, consumer and general illumination sectors. Users can quickly and easily find suitable components and obtain the specifications in digital format that they need for their design projects.
This new online tool puts an end to checking and copying down values from LED data sheets. Now, customers can download technical specifications directly. The LED Information Base (LIB) online portal includes Osram’s complete portfolio of LEDs in the visible wavelength range. "Our database currently contains hundreds of product versions. It is being constantly updated and expanded," said Martin Moritz who is in charge of the project at Osram Opto Semiconductors.
All the technical information in one portal
Until now, technical product information for LEDs has been compiled in data sheets and delivered primarily in pdf format. Characteristics such as changes in parameters as a function of temperature are typically presented in the data sheets as analog graphs. Product developers have had to manually note the values in order to enter them into their own design tools. In the LED Information Base, however, users simply select the appropriate LED, click on the data they need, and receive the raw data as an Excel file for downloading. The data available includes current-dependent and temperature-dependent characteristics, emission characteristics and typical emission spectrums.
Simple access
With its LED Information Base, Osram Opto Semiconductors provides product developers with access to all the information they need for their design calculations. The LED Information Base is located on the web with data that is easy to download and is regularly updated. A simple registration is required for access.
The LED Information Base can be found at https://apps.osram-os.com/.
No more laborious copying. With its LED Information Base online tool, Osram Opto Semiconductors provides its customers with LED specifications in Excel format for fast, easy download.
