Sept. 11, 2009
Date Announced: 11 Sep 2009 Support for “B.U.G. Rating”, “Absolute Photometry” and MS-Vista ComplianceLittleton, Colorado – July 27, 2009 – Version 1.7 of Lighting Analysts’ Photometric Toolbox software adds capabilities of critical importance to the Architectural lighting industry in today’s efforts to control stray light and introduce new lighting products based on solid state technologies. Exterior lighting calculations will all soon require luminaire selection to be controlled by BUG. Rating; a luminaire classification system based on IES document TM-15. Photometric Toolbox 1.7 computes a luminaires’ BUG Rating using the Road report tool as well as within the photometric Instabase. The rapid development of solid state lighting prompted the IES to stipulate in document LM-70-2009 that all SSL based products be photometrically tested using the absolute method of luminaire photometry. Photometric Toolbox 1.7 includes full support for IES photometric files in absolute format in all calculated metrics including BUG rating.Additional improvements such as automatic license keying, license sharing and MS-Vista compliance round out this important release.A Trial of Photometric Toolbox version 1.7 can be downloaded from www.agi32.com.
