European children’s clothing brand il Gufo has now opened a London boutique in Brompton Road in the heart of stylish Chelsea and has incorporated lighting from Reggiani’s prestigious Yori Evo range throughout the store. The décor has been designed to reflect the brand’s guiding principles and values based on all things natural and sustainable. It features high-quality craftsmanship and furnishings that have a Nordic inspiration with a predominance of hornbeam and oak wood. Unusually, some of their fittings, such as the large tree created especial lly for the brand’s Milan and Paris boutiques, are actually entirely handmade. “The aim”, as stated by Alessandra Chiavelli, CEO, “was to lighten the volumes and make the spaces more welcoming, almost homely”. Everything, in fact, to complement a high-end clothing range which dresses children as children, with collections designed for baby (0-24 months) and boys and girls (2-14 years), whilst respecting a philosophy with nature and the child at its centre. The same high standards and environmentally-friendly principles are also expected from all their collaborators – including the designers and suppliers of their lighting scheme. The London setting in particular called for lighting that would enhance the clothing collections on display with high quality light (SDCM <2 and CRI>90), at the same time slotting discreetly into the minimalist, Nordic-inspired look of the whole boutique. Hence the obvious choice of projectors and track from Reggiani’s prestigious Yori Evo Ghostrack family which, given their elegant but minimalist lines and invisible driver (patented technology), blend in perfectly with both the feel and the architecture of the space in question. The perfect solution was found in the 60mm form of the Yori Evo with 17W LED, supplied in a combination of both narrow, 12°, and medium, 20° beam angles and fitted with precision optics, thereby ensuring excellent illuminance and optimal light distribution accuracy throughout.
