CARSON, Calif., August 21, 2024 – DMF Lighting, a leading architectural lighting manufacturer of premium modular LED downlighting systems, announced the addition of spray foam housings to its 4-inch M Series Residential Modular Downlighting System. Offered in round and square apertures, the housings are designed to be in direct contact with spray foam insulation, an effective solution to insulate a home from heat loss and air leaks.
The housings accept all M Series Residential trims and are listed up to R-60 Spray Foam with standard trims and up to R-32 Spray Foam with other decorative trims.
“Spray foam insulation continues to grow to be a popular energy-efficient solution for homes to keep heat in and energy bills down,” said Ken Czech, vice president of new product development, at DMF Lighting. “We continue to expand our product portfolio to meet more application needs and the Spray Foam housings round out our residential product line.”
The M Series Residential Spray Foam Housings are designed to install in nearly any ceiling type including traditional joists, hat channel, T-bar, and Armstrong™ ceilings, as well as into wood and millwork. The complete family includes New Construction and Remodel housing, as well as Low-Profile housing, Fire Rated housing, Double housing for specialty applications, and housing that fulfills Chicago Plenum requirements – meeting the needs of every new construction or remodel project.
As with all DMF Lighting’s downlighting product lines, the M Series Residential modular system consists of a housing, light engine module (Downlight or Adjustable), and a choice of over 50 precision-crafted aluminum trims.
Drivers are embedded into the modules versus the housing, so modules, equipped with quick connects, can be easily swapped out with below-ceiling access, allowing for simple serviceability, easy design changes, and onsite aiming flexibility. The modules also feature unique tool-less field-interchangeable optical distributions for the ultimate flexibility.
The line includes multiple color temperatures including Warm Dim and Tunable White choices with a 93 color rendering index. Color variation is kept within a 2-step or 3-step MacAdam ellipse, depending on the chosen module, for unparalleled quality and consistency.
The modularity of the system allows the housings and the light modules to ship separately so the housings can be installed first, reducing on-site storage. Additionally, the benefit of embedded drivers in the modules – versus the housing – reduces the aging of the electrical components throughout the construction process and eats into the warranty.
Featuring a sustainable design, the M Series Residential downlighting system is compliant with California’s Title-24 JA8, ENERGY STAR®, Declare Listed, and DarkSky Approved. The products are RoHS compliant, UL Listed for damp and wet locations, NSF Listed, Fire Rated, and STC/IIC Sound Rated.
