Specialty Lighting Industries makes veteran appointments to marketing, sales, and development teams

Art Hatley, who has lead the sales and marketing at Specialty Lighting Industries for the last nine years, has worked with the SLI management team to establish the following new team members and organization and will continue to serve SLI as Vice President of Special Projects and focus on sales and channel development in the Western Territory. Hatley will also serve in the pivotal role of integrating the new team members in their respective positions and in supporting the SLI organization in all facets of the business. A lighting engineer who helped develop the first LED tail lamp for the automobile industry nearly two decades ago, Ron Steen has been appointed to the position of Vice President of Business and Product Development for SLI. Prior to joining SLI, Steen supported the field of general lighting as Director of Product Management for SSL Systems and Drivers at Philips Lighting Electronics and subsequently served as Vice President of Business Development, Americas for Xicato from 2007-2014. A graduate of Western Michigan University, Steen brings extensive expertise in LED innovation and system integration to his role at SLI and will be responsible for SLI’s product line rationalization, new product development, worldwide channel development, and product positioning. With nearly 15 years of lighting industry experience, Lyle Perkins has been appointed to the position of National Sales and Marketing Manager for SLI, where he will be responsible for the company’s inside and agency sales force, sales strategy, and asset management. Prior to his role at SLI, Perkins served as International Key Account Manager at Philips Lighting Electronics, where he was responsible for the company’s largest OEM and Distributor customers, and subsequently held the position of Regional Sales Manager at Xicato. A graduate of Loyola University, Perkins brings extensive expertise in sales strategy, account planning, and growth management to his new role at SLI. Chris Reed has been appointed to the position of Director of Product Innovation for SLI, where he will be responsible for helping to increase the market accessibility of SLI’s renowned line of specialty architectural fixtures as well as innovating new fixture platforms.
