LEDs Magazine is pleased to announce the recipients of its 2022 BrightStar Awards, which the Endeavor Business Media brand launched this year to recognize ingenuity in commercial components, materials, tools, controls, and finished products for LED-based applications. Categories include indoor/outdoor illumination, horticultural lighting, connected lighting, circadian and disinfection lighting, and specialty applications.
A panel of industry experts reviewed each entry submitted to the awards program, assigning it a score from zero to 5 stars. Products receiving an average score of 3.5 stars or higher were named a 2022 BrightStar Award honoree. “In running our past Sapphire Awards program, we surveyed our panelists and close industry contacts who have their pulse on emerging trends and developing applications,” managing editor Carrie Meadows said. “We learned that some felt we might recognize broader strokes of innovation and technology advancement rather than posting one individual winner in each product or application category.”
“In this inaugural year of the BrightStar Awards program, we were pleased by the number of submissions and entrants, both former Sapphire Awards participants and new firms,” editorial director Wanda Lau said. “The jurors’ feedback and scoring showed that the SSL industry has a firm grasp on light and color quality, improved power performance, connectivity, and value-added controls.”
On June 21, the LEDs Magazine team was on-site at LightFair International, in Las Vegas, to present BrightStar Awards trophies to trade show exhibitors and attending companies whose submissions were recognized as honorees by the industry panel.
